in the demo, the menu are not being rebuilt as needed.
To reproduce, take a published page on the demo site and edit the page properties for a page and hit "save".
Then go to "edit mode" and move the page. It will disappear from the menu. You have to go back and publish the page for the page to reappear on the menu.
