I can see a bottleneck occurring with large dotCMS installations with the working and live folders having thousands of files in them. We need to use the same naming convention as we do the for file assets, even store them in the same folder.
In addition, we need to not wipe them out at system startup, as we do now.
We would need to update the method that "wipes them out" to recurse the /assets/ directory looking for *.template, *.container, etc....
